Boost Your Security: WhatsApp Introduces Email Verification for Authentication

WhatsApp has made it easier for users to log in to their accounts. A new update now allows users to link their WhatsApp accounts to an email address. This means that instead of using SMS verification, users can now authenticate their accounts through email, making it more convenient for users who may be in areas without cell service.

The feature was available in the beta version of WhatsApp, is now being rolled out to all users. In order to link an email address to their account, users simply need to tap the Your Profile tab, choose the Account menu, and tap Email Address. WhatsApp has assured that the email address will only be used for authentication purposes and will not be visible to other users.

It’s important to note that the email address is only used for authentication, and users will still need a valid phone number to use WhatsApp. WhatsApp is also working on a new feature that will allow users to set a username to share with others instead of a phone number, but that feature has not been released yet.

In addition to this update, WhatsApp has also recently launched its new macOS app, rebuilt to run natively on Mac computers. The app also now supports the use of two WhatsApp accounts on the same device, and it added support for passkeys on Android devices.

WhatsApp is available for free on the App Store, and users are encouraged to download the latest version of the app to access all of these new features.
