Breaking News: Dimensity 9300 tested in vivo X100 Pro – Find out if it can handle the heat!
The vivo X100 Pro, the high-end smartphone, is the first to have the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset. The new processor has sparked a lot of debate because of its unique all-performance core. Many are wondering if it can sustain its performance or if throttling will offset all the benefits.
The Dimensity 9300 is manufactured on TSMC’s third-generation 4nm+ process and offers a 40% improvement in peak performance compared to last year’s Dimensity 9200 while using 33% less power. It has four Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 units. The GPU is the Immortalis-G720 MC12.
Initial tests suggested a 54% drop in performance after 15 minutes in a CPU throttling test. However, a full review found that the performance only dropped to 73% of its initial power after 40 minutes, which is better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 inside the iQOO 12.
In terms of performance, the X100 Pro is slightly behind the iQOO 12 in the single-core test but ahead in the multi-core test. In Antutu 10, the X100 Pro and the iQOO 12 scored over 40% higher than other smartphones. In GFXBench, the vivo consistently outscored the iQOO, scoring 20 to 30% higher than last year’s Snapdragons.
In 3DMark testing, the Dimensity 9300 had a slight edge in the ray tracing Solar bay test and the Wildlife Extreme test, but lost in the simpler Wildlife test. Overall, the Dimensity 9300 in the X100 Pro has proven to be stable and powerful, demonstrating impressive performance in various benchmark tests.
The new MediaTek chip is showing promise and could provide strong competition in the high-end smartphone market. The X100 Pro’s implementation of the Dimensity 9300 has proven to be stable and powerful, with impressive performance in various benchmark tests. This places it as a strong contender in the high-end smartphone market.
