iQOO 12 Set to Launch in India on December 12 as First Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-Powered Smartphone

The iQOO 12, which was unveiled earlier this month in China, is all set to make its grand debut in India on December 12. This highly anticipated smartphone is set to become India’s first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The iQOO 12 is not just another smartphone but promises to deliver incredible performance, thanks to its powerful processor.

But that’s not all – the iQOO 12 also boasts an impressive triple camera system on its rear. This system comprises a 50 MP primary camera, a 50 MP ultrawide camera, and a 64 MP periscope telephoto camera. The 50 MP primary and 64 MP periscope units have OIS, with the latter being used for 3x Portrait Mode and Telephoto Macro Mode, which will be some of the highlights of the “grand debut” next month. Meanwhile, the 50 MP ultrawide camera has an FOV of 119˚ and is expectedly not equipped with OIS.

Our team recently got their hands on the iQOO 12’s Legend Edition in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan in India, where they took some quick photos and videos to give us a taste of what this smartphone is capable of. The daylight photos taken with the 50 MP ultrawide camera and the 50MP primary camera are nothing short of stunning, and the 64 MP periscope camera’s Telephoto Macro mode enables users to capture breathtaking close-up shots.

In low-light conditions, the 50 MP primary camera delivers exceptional results, capturing crystal-clear images even at 10x magnification. Additionally, the 64 MP periscope camera also performs remarkably well in low light, allowing users to take stunning photos even at 6x magnification.

And if that wasn’t enough, the iQOO 12 also impresses with its video capabilities, offering 1080p slow-mo videos at both 120 FPS and 240 FPS.

However, the iQOO 12 unit tested was running on pre-release firmware, and the company has assured that the smartphone will receive updates to further enhance the camera performance before it goes on sale in India.

All in all, the iQOO 12 is shaping up to be a game-changer in the smartphone industry, and we can’t wait to get our hands on the retail unit to provide you with a detailed verdict on its camera quality. Stay tuned for more updates on the iQOO 12’s official launch in India on December 12.
