Unveiling the Powerful Red Magic 9 Pro and Pro+ with SD 8 Gen 3 and up to 24GB RAM!

ZTE’s nubia brand has officially launched the Red Magic 9 Pro and Pro+ gaming phones with impressive specs. Both models come with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, sleek designs, shoulder keys, and RGB cooling fans. The two phones have similar hardware, but the difference lies in battery capacity, charging, and RAM.

The Red Magic 9 Pro phones feature 6.8-inch flat AMOLED screens with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1,116 x 2,480px resolution. Both devices have a 16MP front-facing camera integrated under the display, with panels rated at up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness.

The Red Magic 9 comes with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256/512GB UFS 4.0 storage, while the 9 Pro+ variant can be configured with 16/24GB RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Both phones feature the updated ICE 13 cooling system, which covers an area of 10,182mm2 and promises to lower the phone’s running temperature by up to 18°.

In terms of design, the phones feature aviation-grade aluminum frames and completely flat glass backs. The camera department boasts a 50MP main shooter and a 50MP ultrawide lens, and the software is handled by Red Magic OS 9.0 based on Android 14.

The major differences between the two phones are in battery capacity and charging speeds. The Red Magic 9 features a 6,500 mAh battery with 80W wired charging, while the 9 Pro+ has a smaller 5,500 mAh battery with support for 165W fast charging. Both phones also feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, a headphone jack, and an IR blaster.

The Red Magic 9 Pro series comes in black, white transparent, and black transparent colors, with the starting price for the Red Magic 9 Pro at CNY 4,399 ($620) and the Red Magic 9Pro+ at CNY 5,499 ($775).
