OnePlus 12 vs. Galaxy S24 Ultra: The Key Feature That Sets Them Apart

The all new OnePlus 12 is set to be a game-changer in the smartphone world, with a massive 6.82-inch OLED screen featuring 2K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Powered by the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the OnePlus 12 will also boast up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, a huge 5400mAh battery, and a 50MP primary camera – enough to give Samsung a run for its money.

But, a downside is the phone’s lack of water resistance. OnePlus is promoting an IP65 rating for the OnePlus 12, a slight improvement over the IP64 rating of the previous model, indicating strong protection from dust and low-pressure water jets, but it still won’t match the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra’s expected IP68 rating, which means it can be submerged in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

However, it’s important to note that water damage is not covered by warranties on any phone, so whether a phone has an IP rating should not be the sole reason for purchase. The OnePlus 12 will also feature an IR blaster for use as a remote control, and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 charging port for fast data transfers up to 10Gbps – making it a formidable choice in the world of smartphones.
