Apple to Introduce Quad-Reflective Zoom Camera in iPhone 16 Pro

Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has reaffirmed his earlier prediction that Apple will include a quad-reflective zoom camera in the smaller version of the iPhone 16 Pro, set to release next year. According to Kuo’s report, Largan will be the exclusive supplier of the quad-reflective camera for Apple, and they have successfully increased their production yield from 40% to 70% in the third quarter of 2023.

This increase in production yield will lead to the lens assembly business becoming profitable in 2024 and will ensure that Apple’s Pro lineup is equally capable. Furthermore, the shipments of iPhones equipped with a quad-reflective camera are expected to grow by approximately 160% on a yearly basis.

In addition to Apple, Kuo also hints at Huawei becoming a major client for Largan’s zoom cameras in 2024, making it the other fastest-growing brand in periscope demand alongside Apple. Kuo’s report states that Huawei’s P70, P70 Pro, and P70 Art models, which will be mass-produced in the first half of 2024, will feature periscope cameras and in-house Kirin chips. He notes that the P70 series is projected to see 100% growth in shipments year over year compared to the P60 series.

The introduction of the quad-reflective zoom camera in the iPhone 16 Pro and the growing demand for periscope cameras in other smartphone brands signify a shift towards enhancing the photography capabilities of mobile devices. With the advancements in camera technology, users can expect to capture high-quality, zoomed-in images and improved optical performance in the upcoming smartphone models.

Overall, the collaboration between Apple, Largan, and Huawei indicates a significant development in smartphone camera technology, promising a competitive and innovative landscape in the mobile market in the coming years.
