iPhone 15 Pro Models Gain Momentum: Display Shipments Reflect Soaring Popularity
The iPhone 15 series is selling like hotcakes, according to new data. Panel shipments for the iPhone 15 have grown 16% compared to the iPhone 14 series, and 21% compared to the iPhone 13 series. The iPhone 15 Pro models are especially popular, with a 71% share of panel shipments in October. This is up from 65% in September.
The average selling price for the iPhone 15 is also 5% higher than its predecessor, with the iPhone 15 Pro Max starting at $1,199 compared to $1,099 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Samsung Display (SDC) remains the top supplier for Apple, accounting for 81% of the panels shipped for the iPhone 15 series. LG Display (LGD) and China’s BOE have also started supplying panels for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, with an 18% and 1% share respectively.
According to DSCC Senior Research Director David Naranjo, the iPhone 15 Pro models are more popular than their predecessors. Panel shipments for the iPhone 15 Pro models accounted for a 64% share from June to October, compared to 54% for the iPhone 14 series and iPhone 13 series.
