Revolutionary Integration: Apple Podcasts App Coming to Tesla Vehicles Next Week!

Apple Podcasts App Set to Arrive on Tesla’s In-Car Entertainment System

Tesla’s in-car entertainment system is getting an exciting new addition with the upcoming holiday update – the Apple Podcasts app. After being leaked earlier, it is now official that the Podcasts app will be available for Model S, Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck owners.

The app will be free for Tesla owners but will require the Tesla Premium Connectivity subscription to stream shows over the car’s cellular connection. This update marks the second Apple app to be available on the Tesla platform, joining the Music app.

Upon the rollout of the update, customers can find the Apple Podcasts app in their car’s App Launcher. They will be able to drag the icon to the dock at the bottom of the touchscreen for quick access later. Similar to the onboarding process for the Music app, users will be required to sign in by scanning a QR code on their iPhone to connect their Apple ID to the Tesla Podcasts app.

Apple has confirmed that all the key features of the Apple Podcasts experience will be integrated inside the Tesla app. This includes the Library and Listen Now tabs, which will include the synced Up Next queue. The playback state will also be synced across all devices, allowing users to start listening in their car and continue from where they left off on their iPhone.

The Browse tab will allow users to discover and explore the podcasts catalog from inside their vehicle, including recommendations and top charts. Plus, the Podcasts playback will integrate with Tesla’s Media Player, providing convenient playback control while driving. Additionally, Apple Podcasts results will appear in Tesla’s unified search experience.

The availability of Apple Podcasts on Tesla will extend to 47 countries and regions, covering 14 languages. It’s worth noting that the Podcasts app had previously expanded beyond Apple’s platforms with support for some Porsche cars and Amazon Alexa devices.

Overall, this update aims to enhance the in-car entertainment experience for Tesla owners, providing them with greater access to a wide range of podcasts through the Apple Podcasts app.
