Upgrade Your AirPods Pro 2 with Apple’s USB-C Case – Available for $99 Now!

Apple now offers a new case for AirPods Pro 2 that includes a USB-C charging port. This new case will allow AirPods Pro 2 users to switch from the Lightning case to the USB-C case without having to purchase an entirely new pair of AirPods. The case is now available for purchase on Apple’s website for $99.

The MagSafe Charging Case (USB‑C) for AirPods Pro (2nd generation) includes the U1 chip with Precision Finding to help quickly locate the case. In addition, it includes a built-in speaker to play a sound when nearby and has a lanyard loop that allows the case to be attached to a backpack or handbag. The case also has IP54 dust, sweat, and water resistance, making it durable and able to handle the elements.

Initially, when the iPhone 15 with USB-C was announced in September, a new version of AirPods Pro 2 with a USB-C charging case was also introduced. However, this case was not available for separate purchase, requiring users to buy an entirely new pair of AirPods. The updated version of AirPods Pro 2 released in September includes an H2 chip capable of streaming lossless audio from the Vision Pro headset, a feature exclusive to the newest version of AirPods Pro 2.

The first orders for the USB-C case for AirPods Pro 2 are expected to arrive between December 27 and January 2, but they will not be available in time for the holiday season. Interested customers can place their orders on Apple’s website and should take note of this shipping timeline. Today’s launch was first reported by The Verge.
