Revolutionary Upcoming Handset Boasts 160MP Periscope Camera – Don’t Miss Out!
A new phone with a 160MP periscope camera is rumored to be in the works, according to a post by leaker Digital Chat Station on China’s Weibo social media site. The post also mentioned that the device would carry Porsche branding, hinting that it could be part of the Honor Magic 6 series.
A periscope camera allows for greater optical zoom in smartphones by using a prism and tube to extend the focal length. If the rumors are true, this would be the highest-resolution telephoto camera ever found on a smartphone.
However, there are concerns about the potential drawbacks of such a large resolution sensor. The smaller pixels could negatively impact image quality in low-light environments, leading to increased noise and a reduction in dynamic range. Pixel binning could help mitigate some of these issues by allowing the smaller pixels to carry more information.
In addition to the 160MP periscope camera, the rumored phone is said to feature 3D Time of Flight facial recognition for security, a primary camera with a one-inch sensor, variable aperture support, and an ultra wide-angle camera. The device will also offer satellite communications, similar to Huawei’s Mate 60 series.
Interestingly, there are competing rumors about another smartphone with a 200MP telephoto camera, indicating that the smartphone industry’s real innovation is coming out of China.
So, as the race for higher resolution and better smartphone cameras heats up, consumers can look forward to more advanced and innovative features in the latest devices coming out of China.
