OnePlus Open – The Unstoppable Phone That Survives Grueling Bend Test with Flying Colors!
The latest smartphone from OnePlus, the OnePlus Open, has undergone a durability test and has proven to be quite resilient. The phone, which is OnePlus’s first foldable smartphone, was put through various tests by Zack from YouTube channel JerryRigEverything.
During the testing, it was found that the cover display of the OnePlus Open has glass on top, which scratches at level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale. The inside screen, like other foldable displays, is covered by a plastic protector and scratches at level 2.
The phone’s sides are made from aluminum, making it reasonably dust-proof. The outer display lasted for about 25 seconds in contact with an open flame before the pixels turned white, which is standard behavior for OLED screens. The inner panel’s plastic screen protector, however, got burnt in about five seconds.
In the bend test, the phone proved to be quite durable. It survived being bent from either direction when folded, and even survived being bent in the wrong direction when it’s open. Although it didn’t snap back into place as it used to after the test, it remained 100% functional.
This is a significant achievement for OnePlus, as the company has had a poor track record with bend tests in the past. The OnePlus Open has defied expectations and has proven to be the most resilient device in such testing for the company.
