OnePlus 12 Revealed with New Design and Gaming Antenna
The highly anticipated OnePlus 12 is set to be unveiled in China on December 4th, and the company has just released the first official images of the phone. According to Android Authority, the phone will feature some interesting changes, including the relocation of the popular Alert Slider from the right side to the left side.
The reason behind this change is to improve gaming performance by allowing the addition of a new integrated antenna. OnePlus stated, “Based on internal testing, it has been determined that the optimal position for gaming antennas is between the forefingers of the user when the phone is held in landscape orientation.” By moving the Alert Slider, better gaming antennas can be deployed, improving gaming antenna signal by 3dB and reducing game latency by 15%.
In addition to the design changes, the OnePlus 12 will have a glass body and will be available in Pale Green, Rock Black, and White color options. The phone is expected to feature a 6.82-inch OLED display with 2k resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering 3000 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The rear camera array is said to include a 50MP primary camera, a 48MP ultra-wide camera, and a 64MP periscope camera with 3x optical zoom. The OnePlus 12 will also boast a large 5400mAh battery that supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The OnePlus 12 is expected to be released in the U.S. during the first quarter of 2024. With its impressive specs and anticipated performance, the OnePlus 12 could be a top contender for the best Android phone of 2024.
