Oppo Launches New A59 Smartphone in India

Oppo has introduced its latest smartphone in India, the A59. Priced at INR 14,999, the new device comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. For an additional 2GB of RAM, the price goes up to INR 16,999. The A59 will be available for purchase on December 25 through Oppo’s online store, Flipkart, and Amazon.

The A59 features a 6.56-inch 720×1,612 LCD screen with a waterdrop notch and 90 Hz refresh rate, up to 720-nit peak brightness. It also supports microSD cards, dual-SIM functionality, a 13 MP rear camera, a 2 MP depth sensor, an 8 MP selfie snapper, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 33W SuperVOOC fast wired charging.

Running on Android 13 with ColorOS 13.1 on top, the A59 is IP54 certified for dust and splash resistance. Oppo claims that the A59 passed its “rigorous 36-month fluency test”, ensuring smooth performance for years to come.

The new A59 is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6020 chipset, marking a significant upgrade from its 2016 predecessor. The device has no commonality with the earlier A59 apart from sharing the same name.

With its latest launch, Oppo aims to provide Indian consumers with a high-quality smartphone that offers advanced features at an affordable price point.
