Huawei Launches New Nova 12 Series

Today, Huawei announced the launch of its new smartphones, the nova 12 Ultra, nova 12 Pro, nova 12, and nova 12 Lite. The new devices feature physical variable aperture cameras and satellite connectivity.

The Huawei nova 12 comes with a 6.7″ 120Hz OLED display with a fingerprint reader underneath for biometric authentication. It also has a centered punch-hole for the 60MP ultrawide selfie camera and supports 1B colors and has a P3 wide color gamut. The back of the nova 12 features an elliptical camera island with an LED flash, a laser focus sensor, a 50MP primary camera, and an 8MP ultrawide camera.

The nova 12 runs on HarmonyOS 4 and is available in two storage options – 256GB and 512GB. It is powered by the Kirin 830 SoC and comes with a 4,600 mAh battery with 100W charging, USB-C, and NFC. It also features a “bionic breathing liquid-cooling pulsating heat conduction” capability to improve heat dissipation.

The Huawei nova 12 Lite is a slimmer version of the nova 12 with a smaller battery and slower charging. It features the Snapdragon 778G processor and comes in similar colors and storage options as the nova 12.

The nova 12 series is priced at CNY2,999 ($420) for the 256GB version and CNY3,399 ($475) for the 512GB version. The nova 12 Lite is priced at CNY2,499 ($350) for the 256GB version and CNY2,799 ($390) for the 512GB version. Pre-booking for the nova 12 and nova 12 Lite has started in China through VMall, and the devices will go on sale on January 5, 2024.
