Attention Fossil Users: Wear OS 3.5 Update Now Available – Don’t Miss Out!
The Fossil Gen 6 smartwatches are getting a new update. The update is not the Wear OS 4 update, but it brings some small changes to the user interface, as well as a new Bedtime mode. This mode turns off certain features to prevent the watch display from turning on while you sleep.
The update also includes the August 1 security patch level. Some users have reported that the update was failing to install on their devices, but Fossil has responded on Reddit that they are working on a fix. It seems that the issue has been resolved, and smartwatches are now able to install the update with no problem.
The update has already been received by the Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition and the Skagen Falster Gen 6. The update brings the build number RFHC.231016.001 and system UI version 1.2.0. There are also reports that the update should include performance enhancements and better battery life, although Fossil has not provided a changelog.
The update follows the 5.1 update that arrived for the Fossil Smartwatches app, which gave the companion app some revamped UI elements. However, it still leaves Fossil smartwatch owners wondering if or when the Wear OS 4 update will arrive for their devices.
For now, the only way to get the Wear OS 4 update is to own a Pixel Watch 2 or a Galaxy Watch 6. Fossil has not provided any information on when their devices will receive the Wear OS 4 update.
