ASUS has announced the launch of the first Chromebook powered by Intel’s Core Ultra 7 processor, the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus. This new Chromebook promises to deliver double the performance of its competition, setting a new standard in the market.

Featuring a 14-inch touchscreen display, the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus is capable of connecting with up to three 4K external monitors, providing a versatile and efficient user experience. With this announcement, ASUS has beaten its competitors to the punch and is set to provide HP with some competition in the top end of the market.

The new Chromebook will come with four different CPU configurations, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, offering powerful and efficient performance for its users. In addition, it also includes the latest AI-powered enhancements and features found in ChromeOS, allowing users to enjoy better video call quality, use Magic Eraser in Google Photos, and access the web version of Photoshop.

The ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus boasts a 14-inch (optional) touchscreen display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, capable of reaching 500 nits of brightness. The design meets US MIL-STD 810H standards and is made from an “all-metal chassis that’s crafted from recycled aluminum,” providing a premium user experience without a bulky design, weighing just under 3 pounds (1.3kg/2.87 lbs).

In terms of connectivity, the Chromebook includes dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, a full-size HDMI 2.1 port, dual USB-A ports, and a microSD card slot. Additionally, users will be able to connect up to three 4K displays to the Chromebook at the same time, all without needing a docking station.

Unfortunately, ASUS has not revealed the pricing and availability of the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus. However, users are hopeful that it won’t just be limited to the Enterprise segment.
