Asus to Unveil New ROG Lineup at CES 2024
Asus has announced that it will be revealing its latest ROG lineup at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on January 8. The highly anticipated lineup will feature the new ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro devices, as per a leak from Windows Report.
The upcoming devices will showcase a refreshed design with a flat frame and an updated camera island. One of the major design updates will be the introduction of a punch hole display, a first for the ROG Phone series. This design change will allow Asus to reduce the bezels around the panel, giving the phones a more modern appearance and a smaller footprint than their predecessors.
Both the ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro will boast a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The panels will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and will offer up to 2,500 nits peak brightness.
Under the hood, the phones will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, with the ROG Phone 8 sporting 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and the 8 Pro offering up to 24GB. Both devices will come with UFS 4.0 storage, with the base model having 256GB and the Pro model offering up to 1TB. Additionally, both phones will feature a new camera setup on the back, which includes a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 32MP telephoto module with 3x optical zoom. The punch hole cutout on the front will house a 32MP selfie camera.
Other notable features include the use of Android 14 with ROG UI, IP68 ratings, a headphone jack, and a 5,500 mAh battery with Quick Charge 5.0 and PD Charging support at speeds of up to 65W.
Asus fans and tech enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the official unveiling of the new ROG lineup at CES, where more details about the devices and their accessories are expected to be revealed. Stay tuned for more updates on the latest from Asus.
