Elon Musk Calls Out Apple for Censorship – Urges Iger’s Removal in 2023
Elon Musk Calls for Disney CEO to be Fired Over Hate Speech Concerns
Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, has ignited a new controversy as he continues his battle against major corporations. This time, Musk has called for the firing of Disney CEO Bob Iger due to growing concerns about hate speech on the platform, which is now known as X.
This is not the first time Musk has been in the spotlight for his stance on free speech. After buying Twitter last year, Musk announced himself as a “free speech absolutist,” allowing hate speech and disinformation to run rampant on the platform, which led to the suspension of advertising by many major brands. Apple was one of the first to act, pausing its advertising on X, leading Musk to publicly criticize the company.
Most recently, renewed concerns about hate speech have led to more than 100 major corporations, including Apple, suspending their advertising on X. Musk filed a lawsuit after one of Apple’s ads was shown alongside neo-Nazi posts, but the lawsuit itself admitted that this had happened without any artificial circumstances. Musk’s own endorsement of an anti-semitic tweet further fueled the controversy, leading to more companies pulling their ads.
Amid all of this, Musk has singled out Disney and called for the firing of CEO Bob Iger, blaming him for the box office failures of certain movies and accusing him of mishandling the company. Surprisingly, Musk has remained silent about any criticism towards Apple this time around.
It remains to be seen how this latest controversy will play out, as Musk’s unpredictable nature has kept everyone guessing. As for Apple, they have previously resumed their advertising after Musk met with Apple CEO Tim Cook, and it is unclear whether Musk will turn his attention back to them in the future. With Musk, anything is possible, and his clashes with major corporations are far from over.
