Samsung is rolling out a new security patch for its Galaxy S23 flagship series in the U.S. The patch includes a total of 75 fixes, with the aim of addressing various issues related to Knox Guard, the Contacts app, and Qualcomm-based devices.

As we enter the final month of the year, Samsung continues to work on its One UI 6 (Android 14) rollout schedule. The December 2023 security update has been spotted rolling out onto the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra in the U.S. Owners of these devices should expect to see the firmware version S91xUSQS2BWKA.

The patch is quite substantial, containing a total of 75 fixes, including 16 vulnerability fixes. Some of the key fixes include addressing issues related to the Contacts app, as well as improving security for devices using Qualcomm chips. Samsung has also made enhancements to its Knox Guard and Knox Services to better protect user data and safety.

The bulk of the December patch consists of fixes from Google, accounting for 59 of the total fixes. These fixes include several “High” and “Critical” priority system corrections, addressing various security vulnerabilities in the overall framework of Android devices.

Samsung is aiming to automatically push the update to the Galaxy S23 series, but users can manually check for the update in their device settings under “Software update.”

In addition to the security patch, Samsung is continuing its efforts to roll out One UI 6 (Android 14) to its range of Galaxy devices. The Galaxy Tab S9 FE and S9 FE Plus are among the latest to receive the update, with the Galaxy S23 FE also joining the most recent wave.

Looking ahead, Samsung has outlined its revised One UI 6 rollout schedule, detailing when many of its devices should receive the new OS through to 2024. While many current-gen flagship Android phones and tablets have already received the update in several countries, users are eagerly awaiting the patch to arrive on past-gen devices such as the Galaxy S21 series and various midrange devices.
