Huawei Set to Launch New P70 Series Flagships in 2024

Tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from TF International Securities has revealed that Huawei is gearing up to introduce its new flagship P70 series in the first half of 2024. The series is expected to include the P70, P70 Pro, and P70 Pro Art, with Kuo predicting that the demand for these phones will be so high that Huawei could sell three times more units than its previous P60 lineup.

Kuo also mentioned that Huawei is expected to see a significant yearly growth of about 230%, with the company potentially selling up to 15 million units of the P70 series compared to the 4-5 million units of the previous P60 devices. Even if the demand is not as high as anticipated, the company is still expected to sell at least 10-12 million units of the new series.

The introduction of the P70 series is not only expected to boost Huawei’s sales but also benefit its suppliers, including high-end lens makers Largan and Sunny Optical. The new series aims to elevate the camera specifications, leading to a significant shipment growth for the suppliers.

The P70 series is said to bring a range of advancements in the camera department, with the P70 featuring a 5P lens and a 1/3.6” telephoto sensor. On the other hand, the P70 Pro duo will come equipped with a 6P zoom lens and a 1/2.5” sensor. The P70 Pro Art version will stand out with a 1G6P lens and a 1”-type sensor for the ultra-wide-angle camera, making it pricier to manufacture.

Moreover, the new series is expected to come with new Kirin chipsets with 5G connectivity, addressing one of the main issues that hindered the success of Huawei’s previous flagships. This move by Huawei is likely to prompt other phone makers to follow suit with similar solutions.

The potential success of the Huawei P70 series is not only significant for the company but also for the global smartphone market, as it could pave the way for new technological innovations in the industry.
