Xiaomi’s 2023 Success and Setbacks: Who’s winning and who’s losing

Xiaomi’s 2023 Winners and Losers

Xiaomi had a pretty good year in terms of its product lineup, but sales were not as great due to the global economic situation and limited availability of certain models.

The Winners:

The Xiaomi 13 series, especially the 13 Ultra, was a big success. The small Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro were well-liked for their performance and balance. The 13 Ultra, although in limited quantities, offered substantial upgrades in its cameras, charging, and battery.

The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro also made a transition to Wear OS, offering new possibilities and deeper integration into Google’s ecosystem. It is stylish and has good battery life.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 series was one of the most popular in the mid-range market. It surprised users with its great hardware and competitive price tag.

The Losers:

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, although a solid upgrade in the camera department, was limited to China and had issues with MIUI, thermal control, and lack of certain features, making it less desirable for its price.

The Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro, despite its sound quality and feature set, had an absurd launch price and buggy software, affecting user experience.

The Poco series was somewhat dull this year, lacking decent camera hardware and running on old SoCs compared to the Redmi Note 12 series.

Overall, Xiaomi had both successes and disappointments in its 2023 product lineup. While some devices excelled in performance and features, others fell short due to limited availability, high prices, and technical issues. However, Xiaomi continues to be a strong presence in the tech market and is likely to bounce back with improved offerings in the future.
