Boost Your Productivity with Pixel Launcher Quick Settings Tiles in Search Results
Google is updating its Pixel Launcher search function to include quick settings tiles for easier access to common actions. This new feature is currently only available to beta testers of the Android 14 QPR2 Beta, but may be rolled out to all Pixel users in the future.
The quick settings tiles in the Pixel Launcher search now mirror those found in the dedicated quick settings panel that appears when you swipe down from the top of the home screen. This allows for convenient access to settings such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb, and more. The search results are also interactive, displaying available Wi-Fi networks when the Wi-Fi section is accessed.
One notable limitation of this feature is that it does not include third-party or non-system app tiles, such as Digital Wellbeing. However, the update does bring additional options like a QR code reader and Flashlight to the search results.
The change is powered by Android System Intelligence and aims to provide a more seamless and user-friendly experience for Pixel users. While currently only available in the beta version, there is hope that Google will include support for third-party quick settings tiles in the stable release of Android 14 QPR2.
Overall, this update represents an effort by Google to enhance the usability of Pixel devices and make common actions more accessible to users. Keep an eye out for these changes as they may soon become available to all Pixel users in the near future.
